A PREMIUM TIMES reporter could hear sounds of gunshots and explosion as he interviewed a resident of the town, who telephoned to inform this newspaper of the development “Sound of explosion and gunshots woke us up from sleep and we had to hurriedly leave to the outskirts of town where I am calling you from,” said our source, who gave his name as Mr. Sunday. Bajoga hosts the Ashaka cement plant, and the Boko Haram sect carried out a similar raid on the plant last month during which they reportedly carted away four Toyota Hilux vans packed with explosives. I was frightened by Boko Haram’s attempt to capture Damaturu – David Mark

Senate President, David Mark, on Tuesday said he was frightened by the bravery displayed by Boko Haram insurgents on Monday in their desperate bid to capture Damaturu, the Yobe State capital. Mark stated this while commenting on the motion brought by Senator Ahmed Lawan representing Yobe North in the Senate on the unfortunate development. According to him, the dimension which the insurgency had taken was frightening, but he commended the military for successfully repelling the insurgents from taking over the Government House.

Tony Tetuila Absent At APC Primary Elections

Tony Tetuila who was dreaming of becoming a member of Kwara State House of Assembly come 2015 didn’t even attend yesterday’s APC primary elections which took place in the State. A source disclosed that party stake holders had earlier advised him to step down shortly after his campaign posters littered the State because they feel he wasn't ripe enough for the job. His name was not mentioned at the primaries not to talk of him attending. Eyah
