Prince Tolu Ajayi Exonerates Self From Attack On Kashamu, Describes Him As Exemplary Leader

The Chairman of the Ogun state chapter of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Prince Tolu Ajayi  (PTA) has distanced self from the recent attack on the immediate past lawmaker representing Ogun East  Senatorial District at the upper legislative chamber, Prince Buruji Kashamu by the League of Registered Political Parties. Recall, the League had in the wake of week  argued that Kashamu had lost relevance in the political space in the state, adding that he (Kashamu) is the black sheep in the State's chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). But Ajayi in a statement on Thursday, described Kashamu as an expemplary leader worthy of emmulation, insisting that his (Kashamu's) impact in the run to unite the party could not be over overemphersied. Veteran Nollywood actor, Yomi Obileye is dead. The actor passed on this morning, April 24th, from an undisclosed ailment. Comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka who shared a post announcing his death wrote on his page; “If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane, we would walk right up to heaven and bring you back again. “ “Rest In Peace Uncle Yomi OBILEYE . Students in Hong Kong take final secondary school exams as coronavirus subsides

Thousands of Hong Kong students were among the first in the world to take their final secondary school exams on Friday (April 24), all wearing face masks and having their temperatures checked after being stuck at home for months due to the coronavirus. The Diploma of Secondary Education examination was given the go-ahead after a four-week delay, as the number of new coronavirus cases has fallen, though social distancing measures remain in place throughout the Chinese-ruled city. "Although it's relatively dangerous to start the examination for us candidates at this moment, the (exams) might have been cancelled altogether unless they were held now," 19-year-old Emily Chui said before going into the exam hall at the Clementi Secondary School on Hong Kong island.  Hong Kong's schools have been shut since late January. The city reported two more coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking its total to 1,036.

Three doctors test positive to coronavirus in Lagos

The Medical Guild says three of its members at Alimosho General Hospital and Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, have tested positive for COVID-19. Chairman and Secretary of the guild respectively, Oluwajimi Sodipo and Ismail Ajibowo, made this known in Lagos on the Instagram account of the guild. Medical Guild is an umbrella body of doctors under the employment of the Lagos State Government. Messrs Sodipo and Ajibowo said the three doctors had been admitted at different isolation facilities in Lagos for treatment. They said the medical conditions of their three members were stable, and were enjoying the support of the guild. “Since the incident, we have been working with our representatives in those centres, and the Medical Directors of the facilities to ensure testing of those involved. “This is with a plan for care in the unfortunate incident of positive cases,” they said. South Africa to ease coronavirus lockdown next week

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, has said his government would gradually start easing coronavirus lockdown restrictions from May 1. He said the government had developed an approach that determined the measures that should be in place based on the direction of the pandemic in the country. As part of this approach, there will be five coronavirus levels from five to one. South Africa is currently at the highest strata of level 5, which requires a full national lockdown to contain the spread of the virus. From May 1, the level will be lowered to level 4 which means some activity will be allowed to resume subject to extreme precautions. He said that during the level 4 lockdown, South Africa’s borders would remain closed. Public transport will continue operating under restrictions.
