Democracy is the government of the people by the people and for the people. The centre and focal principle of democracy revolves around the people. This is why democracy remains the best form of government. In Ogun state, the door of democracy in it real sense has been shut against the people. When the principle of a concept is neglected, that concept has automatically lost its glory and value. The value and glory of democracy in Ogun state has been withdrawn due to imposition and dictatorship. People are now living in a state of fear of people in authority and thus their freedom taken away from them. A deep searchlight into the activities of political parties in Ogun state revealed a worrisome and dangerous political trend that has put the state in a state of political anarchy. Ooni Gets Brazilian City’s Highest Honour

Authorities of San Jose, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, has conferred the highest honour of the city on the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi. This is even as the monarch urged adherents of traditional African religion to educate adherents of other faith regarding misconceptions about their faith. A statement by the Ooni’s spokesperson, Mr. Moses Olafare, explained that the honour was conferred on the monarch during a visit to ‘Ile Ase Isegun Itesiwaju Aterosun,’ San Jose by the representative of Mayor of the city, Sergio de Paula. Sergio noted the contributions of the monarch to the promotion of religious tolerance globally through his campaign for peaceful coexistence, hence the honour.
