  It is no doubt that the race for 2023 presidency has already begun and the Southwest is not left out as expected. Knowing fully well that Southwest is an interested region in the coming 2023 politics, a reliable source has confirmed the readiness of the acceptance and endorsement of  Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State as the choice of body of opposition political  parties IPAC in the geopolitical zone. This according to the source has generated heated political attention from political bigwigs in the Southwest and made possible by the  Director General Policy and Strategy, Bar Moses Okezie who has made incursion into the body of opposition Political parties known as Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC). NBA protests over Magistrate's order to jail lawyer in Abuja

There was drama at an Abuja Magistrate’s Court as the magistrate, Ibrahim Mohammed, ordered policemen to arrest and handcuff a lawyer, Eburu Barth, for challenging him on the summary of the case before the court. Mohammed of Magistrate Court 2, Wuse Zone 6, thereafter sentenced Barth to two months’ imprisonment for contempt of court. It was gathered that the lawyer was thereafter handcuffed and led out of the courtroom. The lawyer was said to have been taken to Suleja Correctional Centre. However, the Nigerian Bar Association, Unity Bar, Abuja, on Tuesday protested what it called arbitrary use of power by  the magistrate, , against Barth. Akintoye lambasts Akeredolu for rejecting Yoruba nation

  Professor Banji Akintoye’s led Ilana Omo Oodua has berated the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, for rejecting the agitation for the creation of a Yoruba nation. Akeredolu had during the swearing-in of Princess Oladunni Odu as the new Secretary to the State Government and other Special Advisers in Akure, the state capital, on Monday, said, “No part of the entire state, known and delineated as Ondo State, shall permit any Yoruba nation gathering or agitation“. Reacting to Akeredolu’s position, Akintoye’s Ilana Omo Oodua said Akeredolu spoke for himself, and not the people of Ondo State. The group made this known in a statement titled, ‘Our Agitation Shall be Bloodless, Intellectually Rooted, Legally Grounded’ on Tuesday. It stated that the agitation for the Yoruba nation “is not that of a plot for secession as erroneously branded by Akeredolu, but a struggle for self-determination”. General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman has disclosed that he has forgiven everyone who has hurt him as part of resolutions on his 50th birthday. The clergyman who turned 50 today disclosed in a tweet on Wednesday that he had forgiven all who paid his good with evil. He wrote;  “Lord,I thank you for health/protection. For your mercy and grace. On this day I forgive everyone who has hurt me, paid me evil for gud.” “I equally ask for your grace to keep doing gud/serve you. I thank you for my home/family. And for every OFM child/well wisher.   Yoruba rights activist Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho has distanced himself from a trending statement that angry Yoruba youths would invade the palace of the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo. Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, had in a viral video obtained by The Nation, threatened the Oduduwa agitators would soon attack the monarch in his palace and other traditional rulers who do not support their agitation. But Igboho’s Senior Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dapo Salami, said the statement was made solely by Koiki. It was reported the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, last week, warned that it was in the best interest of all Nigerians to remain one, regardless of the current challenges. Oba Adedotun, a retired Brigadier-General, said Nigeria could not afford another civil war or absorb the huge number of Nigerians that could be displaced by any civil war.
