I The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a full list of  approved mode of primaries for its various state chapters. From the published list, some clear danger signs appear as the party may have succumbed to pressure from some governors and other power brokers to approve their preferred primary mode that would effectively ward off challenge against their interests. In a state like Kaduna where Governor Nasir El-Rufai is seeking to prevent the return to senate of Shehu Sani, with whom he has been engaged in a bitter tussle, his preferred choice of indirect primary was approved.  Sani had pushed for direct primary to stand a fighting chance against El-Rufai’s Chief of Staff, Uba Sani.
