Lionel Messi Comes Out Of Retirement, Will Play For Argentina Again

Lionel Messi has come out of international retirement and will play for Argentina again. The FC Barcelona forward, 29, announced his international retirement in June after Argentina's penalty shootout loss to Chile in the Copa America final. However, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reports that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has made a U-turn. Messi is said to have agreed to return to national team duty after meeting new Argentina manager Edgardo Bauza in Barcelona last weekend. The newspaper also reports that Messi has stated his intention to play in his country's World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Venezuela later this year.

Dogara Begs Siasia Not to Boycott Quarter Finals

The speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has appealed to the national U23 team styled Dream Team VI, not to boycott its quarter final encounter against Denmark on Saturday, at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympics. Dogara, who was speaking against the backdrop of complaints of Team’s Head Coach, Samson Siaisia, that the players of the team have refused to train and may boycott the tie due to unpaid allowances and wages, said the Dream Team should take patriotism as a fulcrum of their campaign, as he will personally do everything within his powers to intervene in the matter.
