Egypt To Host 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations

Egypt will host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) has announced. Egypt beat South Africa, the only other nation to bid, by 16 votes to one with one abstention at a Caf executive committee vote in Senegal. Original host nation Cameroon was stripped of staging duties in November because of slow preparations. "I want to thank the (Caf) Executive Committee for the trust, and I thank the government for this support," said Egypt FA (EFA) president Hany Abu Rida. "We organised the tournament on 2006 and that make us against a challenge to make better and better, we are ready for this honour."

Mc Oluomo Stabbed At APC Lagos Rally

The Lagos State Police Command have declared a leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Mustapha Adekunle aka Seigo wanted. The police said the suspect attempted to disrupt a rally of the All Progressives Congress at Skypower Ground, Ikeja today. The police spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, said MC Oluomo, who was stabbed during the clash, was in a stable condition in a hospital. “The said Mustapha Adekunle, aka Seigo, an NURTW chieftain, came to the rally with a group of people and were identified at the entrance as supporters of the party. “However, at the tail end of the event, Seigo and his group, for a reason yet to be determined, violently engaged other supporters of the party. “In the ensuing melee, one MC Oluomo, another NURTW chieftain, was stabbed and was rushed to EKO Hospital where he is currently recuperating while two other victims of the attack were taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for treatment. “The crisis was quickly contained by ...
