Zainab Ahmed Resumes Duty As Finance Minister

Newly-appointed Acting Minister of Finance Mrs Zainab Ahmed has assumed duty 72 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari picked her to oversee the ministry following the resignation of Mrs Kemi Adeosun on, September 14. Until her appointment, Ahmed was the Minister of State, Budget and National Planning. According to NAN, the Minister is studying her new office and reading the handover note.

Lagos APC: I Didn’t Speak To Tinubu About Ambode- Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has denied having a telephone conversation with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, about the second term ambition of the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode. In a disclaimer shared on his verified Twitter handle and Facebook page, it was stated that Pastor Adeboye “has not and would not be involved in inter /intraparty politics in Nigeria and anywhere RCCG is present across the world.” But Adeboye urged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voter Cards and exercise their civic duty.

Osun Election: No phones, cameras, electronic devices in polling booths – INEC

In a bid to ensure a free, fair and successful election in the forthcoming Osun state gubernatorial election, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Monday warned electorate not to come with any electronic device that is capable of recording sounds and images inside the polling booths. Disclosing this in Osogbo at the stakeholders’ forum, Yakubu opined that the new development would help to reduce vote-buying and selling which politicians have adopted. Recall that during the Ekiti state election in July, Yakubu promised Nigerians that the commission would not allow vote-buying and selling to take place.
