Sunnel Thuesem, a bicyclist, was warmly received by some Cross Rivers state government officials yesterday after he rode a bicycle from Denmark to Nigeria (Lagos-Benin-Calabar) and enroute Cameroon to South Africa. Among the appointees who received the young Danish bicyclist were Prince Godswill Edward (ex president Jonathan's son in-law) who is the special adviser to the state governor Ben Ayade on Youth Affairs, S.A Sports Mr. Effiwatt. and Mr. Eric Anderson S.A Tourism. Eid-el-Kabir: Police To Deploy Officers To Praying Grounds, Shopping Malls In Abuja

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Mustafa Mohammed, says the command has concluded necessary arrangement to deploy plain cloths operatives, around praying ground, shopping malls, recreational centres, critical infrastructure and motor parks, to ensure hitch-free holidays. This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anjuguri Manzah, on behalf of the commissioner in Abuja. The statement read: “As part of security arrangement to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the FCT, the commissioner of police has ordered the massive deployment of plain-cloth and uniformed security operatives around praying grounds, shopping malls, gardens, recreational spots, critical infrastructures, motor parks and other areas that will be a beehive of activities while the event is been commemorated.” This arrangement, the statement added includes the strategic deployment of personnel on foot and motorised patrols...

How can Christian schools be the most expensive schools in Nigeria now...? How can one relate this to the term "Christianity" with regards to the "Early Christian Community" ? Note: Most of the good people in the world now have nothing to do with christianity, just like most Christians are far from it too. Another academic session, and parents are paying through their noses to send the kids back to school. A word will always be enough for the wise!

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg posted favourite photos from his trips to Rome, Nigeria and Kenya, describing the countries as very welcoming. Some of the photos include the ones which shows him walking the streets of Lagos, shaking hands with President Buhari at the Villa, meeting developers and Engineers at Andela in Lagos, in Lagos, on the roof of the Co-creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB) looking over Lagos. Speed limiting device: No going back on October 1 deadline, says FRSC

There is no going back on the October 1 date for the implementation of speed limiting device nationwide as approved by President Mohammadu Buhari, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said. The Commission’s Corps Marshall, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, stated this yesterday in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, at a public enlightenment forum for stakeholders in the transportaion sector, at old AKTC Park, on Ikot-Ekpene Road, Uyo. Oyeyemi, who was represented by his assistant in charge of Policy, Research and Statistics, Dr. Kayode Olagunju, expressed dismay over the alarming statistics of road crashes on Nigeria highways. He disclosed that last year, over 12,077 road crashes were recorded out of which 5,400 people (68 per cent) were said to have died as a result of over speeding. The FRSC chief regretted that most of the crashes would have been avoided if appropriate safety measures had been adopted by those plying the highways. Nigeria's Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has said economic crime can better be tackled if countries partner each other and share strategic information to stop the network of those who commit such crimes. Amaechi made the statement Monday while delivering a keynote speech at the opening of the 34th Cambridge University prestigious International Symposium on Economic Crime, at Jesus College, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
