 Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, ordered the federal government to fix the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and other goods within seven days from February 7, 2024 Trial  judge,  Justice  Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa, specifically ordered the government to fix the prices of milk, flour, salt, sugar, bicycles and it’s spare parts, matches, motorcycles and its spare parts, motor vehicles and it’s spare parts as well as petroleum products, including diesel, premium motor spirit, PMS, and kerosene.   President Bola Tinubu has suspended Godwin Emefiele as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, CFR, from office with immediate effect,” the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Willie Bassey said in a Friday statement. “This is a sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy. “Mr Emefiele has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate) [Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi], who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of the investigation and the reforms.”

The former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has requested the Peoples Democratic Party to apologise for suspending him from the party. He described his suspension as “libellous and defamatory” with the aim to soil his personality. Recall that Fayose and some members of the party were suspended by the National Working Committee of the party over alleged anti-party activities. However, on Thursday, the party reversed the decision and warned members of the pary to respect the party’s constitution. Fayose, through his lawyer, Akinwale Kol-Taiwo, addressed a letter dated March 31 to the party’s acting national chairman, Iliya Damagum, noting that he was suspended for no reason.   The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has stated that controversial singer, Portable, will face more than six charges in court. Adejobi made this known in a Twitter thread on Saturday, where he explained the difference between the alleged threat by Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, and Portable’s case. Responding to a Twitter user, who compared both cases, Adejobi tweeted, “I am sure you are very awake as I have addressed MC’s case, but Portable has more than six count (sic) charges to attend to, apart from resisting arrest and injuring a policeman. He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Otta, who fired a petition to the Commissioner of Police in Ogun. “There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him.
