YPP OGUN WAS NEVER PURCHASED AND WILL NEVER BE - PRINCE TOLU AJAYI (PTA) STATE CHAIRMAN.

The attention of the Young Progressive Party Ogun State has been drawn to an online blog, infolitenews.com.ng which interviewed Comrade Ogini IPAC Chairman Ogun state who claimed that YPP Ogun was purchased by Late Senator Buruji Kashamu for the interest of Asiwaju Abdullateef Adeshina. The online news failed to verify the said information from the party, YPP before going ahead to publish the unverified news online.

For the purpose of clear understanding of what transpired between Late Senator Buruji Kashamu and the national and state leadership of YPP, the party was neither sold nor purchased. Comrade Ogini should remember that YPP is a national political party which has her rightful place in the Nigeria Senate along side the APC and PDP. To this effect, YPP is the eye of many political lords especially judging from the solid foundation and spread in term of structure the party has in Ogun state. This is why a political giant like the late senator could look in the direction of YPP among other political parties in the state.

It was in view of the above that the Late Senator Buruji Kashamu decided to further empower the party by proposing to take up the funding and managing the party not only in Ogun state but the entire Southwest. The negotiation Late Senator Buruji Kashamu had with the national leadership of the party led by our National Chairman Comrade Bishop Amakiri was inconclusive before the demise of the senator.

For posterity sake, Comrade Bishop Amakiri is a man of proven integrity and absolute uprightness who will never engage in anything against the progress of his party at any level. The decision to allow Late Senator Buruji Kashamu to get involved in the running of Ogun state YPP was a well thoughtout one that carries the entire State Working Committee of the party along. Ogun state remains the pride of YPP in Southwest and indeed Nigeria with award from the national leadership of the party as the fastest growing chapter of the party. How will someone thought that such a chapter could be sold out or purchased.

The State Working Committee of YPP Ogun considered it an embarrassment and shameful that the word "purchased" was used to described an agreement meant for the growth, success and progress of our party. We condemn this statement from Comrade Ogini and call for a public apology from him through the same medium the statement was made. We are not cheap to be sold or purchased by any individual.

On the coming of Asiwaju Abdullateef Adeshina, it was the State Chairman Prince Tolu AJAYI (PTA) who volunteered that Adeshina held the position for a period of time. In the first place and according to the arrangement that was about to be established between Late Senator Buruji Kashamu and YPP, Asiwaju Abdullateef Adeshina was to work with the State Chairman Prince Tolu Ajayi for the progress and growth of the party in the state. It was the kindness and generosity of PTA that prompted him to honour him with the position in interim capacity being an elderly man. This was purely a gentleman's agreement without any legal documentation or formal agreement. This is just putting the record straight on the involvement of Adeshina in Ogun YPP as his position expires the day the late senator died because he wasn't in the picture in the first place.

To this end, Late Senator Buruji Kashamu has not established any concrete agreement with the party and all arrangement he had with YPP became invalid after his demise. This also put the issue of the chairmanship of Asiwaju Abdullateef Adeshina to rest as the party in Ogun state is now back to status quo with Prince Tolu Ajayi as the state chairman.

The national leadership of YPP has further directed that Asiwaju Abdullateef Adeshina should stop parading himself as the state chairman of the party in Ogun state as the party is back to affirm the sacrosanct of the November 4th, 2018 State Congress that produced Prince Tolu Ajayi as YPP State Chairman.

In view of this, the SWC of YPP Ogun state wishes Ashiwaju Abdullateef Adeshina all the best in his future political journey as he bow out of his interim chairmanship position this day 1st of September, 2020 allowing for the rightful continuation of the November 4th, 2018 state congress mandate in Ogun state.

YPP ........... Service to the people.

Signed,

Comrade Salami Taiwo Ramon.

Ogun State Publicity Secretary.
