Barring any last minute changes, a company, Osun Ceramic Industry has threatened to demolish all the structures on the  large expanse of land which is the location of Adeleke University in Ede Osun state. According to the Tribune newspapers,  the company has contracted Messrs. J.Solat Nigeria Limited to clear all the structures on the university campus. According  to a letter written to the state commissioner of police, the company claimed the 120 acres of the university land belongs to  them, a declaration the University has claimed is untrue. Speaking through its Vice Chancellor Professor Samson Ekundayo Alao, the university stated that the land belonged to  them and was lawfully given to them by the late Timi of Ede to support the smooth take off of the university. New Twist As Oyo State Govt Says It Was Not Responsible For The Demolition Of Ayefele’s N800m Music House The leading counsel to the Oyo State government, Yomi Alliyu (SAN) has told an Oyo state High court in Ibadan that the government of the state was not responsible for the destruction of the office of a popular gospel singer, Dr. Yinka Ayefele. The case was mentioned in court this morning. Justice Iyabo Yerima adjourned further hearing on the case till September 12 this year. The Oyo State government had last week served a demolition notice on the building owner, claiming that the building contravened physical planning law. According to Ayefele, the building is valued at over N800m. The Director of Yinka Ayefele Nigeria Limited, Mr David Ajiboye, told journalists on Thursday that there was a court notice, restraining the government from carrying out the demolition. He had also stated that all relevant documents were obtained before the construction of the building.

In a bid to reduce the spread of fake news in India and stop the mob lynching happening in India at an alarming rate the government have begun a massive clampdown on spread of fake news on social media including whatsapp. This crackdown by the Indian police has already seen a 21 year old student who has already spent 5 months in jail for being the admin of a Whatsapp group in India for spreading what the police called “objectionable content”. It can be recalled that fake whatsapp messages has led to the lynching of many people in India for suspicions of child kidnapping and other reasons.
